Earlier last month, India hosted its first-ever MotoGP Bharat Grand Prix. The mega motorcycle racing event, sanctioned by the FIA, took place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The race was won by VR46 Racing Team, owned by the legendary Valentino Rossi. Following the race, the trophy distribution ceremony was held, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave away the trophies. Soon after this ceremony, VR 46 racing team shared a picture and a video of UP CM Yogi Adityanath visiting their booth before the race.

The video showing Yogi Adityanath, the CM of Uttar Pradesh, checking out the racing team’s bike at its booth, was shared by the official page of VR46 Racing. In the intriguing video, UP CM was seen standing next to the VR46 Racing Team’s signature race bike. He was also seen nodding as the team’s head engineer explained things about the bike to him. CM Yogi Adityanath was seen smiling during the conversation and was also seen appreciating the bike.
VR46 Racing Team
For those unaware, VR46 Racing Team, as mentioned above, is owned by the iconic motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi. The racing team has garnered a ton of fame and respect in the world of motorcycle racing. The team is based out of Tavullia in Italy, and the team has made its mark in the highly competitive MotoGP category. Their partnership with Ducati motorcycles, under the moniker Mooney VR46 Racing Team, has so far managed to post some impressive results. To date, they have secured a remarkable 30 race wins, including two in the premier MotoGP class.
The Indian Grand Prix 2023
The Indian Grand Prix in 2023 was a massively successful event, and it was a milestone for motorsport enthusiasts in India. The race took place at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida and was a memorable occasion. Marco Bezzecchi, representing the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, secured a stunning victory from pole position. In second place on the podium stood Spain’s Jorge Martin, and the third spot on the podium was taken by France’s Fabio Quartararo. The race-winning trophy was presented by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Indian celebrities like Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh, John Abraham, popular Yoga teacher and motivational speaker Sadhguru and many other attended the 2023 Indian Grand Prix. Sadhguru even led the inaugural lap at the event and John Abraham also drove around the BIC before the race event began. Ranveer Singh who recently became the brand ambassador for Ducati India also visited the Ducati booth and greeted many drivers on the track.
Yogi Adityanath’s Enthusiasm for Motorsport
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during the event, stated, “There is great potential in the sports sector, and therefore, both the Central and State Governments are focusing on this sector. We are trying to develop the sports sector in Uttar Pradesh and are making every possible effort to organize such events.”
The CM was present at the event, alongside Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anurag Thakur and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. All of the ministers highlighted the government’s support for sports in the country. Yogi Adityanath emphasized the potential of the sports sector and its role in attracting investment.
