West Ham United forward Michail Antonio was involved in a car accident on Saturday.
“West Ham United can confirm striker Michail Antonio has today been involved in a road traffic accident,” a club statement read. “The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Michail, his family and friends at this time.
“The club will issue an update in due course.”
The 34-year-old joined West Ham in 2015 and has scored 83 goals across 322 appearances for the club.
Antonio featured in several England senior international squads earlier in his career but never made an appearance. Since 2021, he has represented Jamaica, for whom he has scored five goals in 21 caps.
Having begun his career at London-based Tooting & Mitcham United, in 2008 Antonio signed for Championship club Reading in 2008 — where he made 33 first-team appearances and had multiple loan spells, including at Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday.
The versatile forward joined Wednesday on a permanent basis in 2012, scoring 18 goals across two seasons before moving to Nottingham Forest. He won Forest’s player of the year in the 2014-15 season and scored four goals in his five appearances at the start of 2015-16, preceding his move to West Ham.
West Ham are set to return to action on Monday as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
