The Agency achieves historic highest sales month ever

National real estate brand The Agency saw its highest level of sales in its eight-year history in March led by record sales across NSW, Victoria and Tasmania as well as a continued strong performance in Western Australia.

“Even though some markets are sluggish, The Agency is going from strength to strength,” The Agency CEO of Real Estate Matt Lahood said.

“In the month of March we saw record sales volumes, record opens and our property management division has also achieved a record number of properties under managements.

“These results are underpinned by The Agency’s ability to be able to attract some of the highest calibre real estate talent across the country.

“Especially pleasing were our results for Victoria and Tasmania as they are our smaller markets when compared to WA and NSW in terms of Agent representation.”

Mr Lahood said the record numbers in March also highlight The Agency’s ability to match buyers with sellers nationally.

“The feedback from our team is that people are now ready to enter the market. This confidence comes from the interest rate decision that we saw in February as well as the prolonged wait and see approach due to the extended stalemate steady interest rates caused.

“First homebuyers are back, investors are back, ex-pats are back. It really is an exciting time to be in real estate and especially to be part of a high calibre team of local property professionals.

“Now more than ever people are transacting with ease. In the last week alone we have seen families from the Gold Coast buying properties in Hobart as well as Perth and Brisbane investors connecting with Melbourne.”

Mr Lahood said the election date is also creating momentum in the marketplace.

“While in previous election campaigns have seen sellers hold off instead they appear to be bringing their plans forward preferring to position themselves to buy in autumn or at the start of winter.”
