The Cincinnati Reds have placed first baseman Joey Votto on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder discomfort, the team announced Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:
- Votto has appeared in 51 games for the Reds this season, batting .200 with 34 hits, 13 home runs and 33 RBIs.
- The 2010 NL MVP made his season debut on June 19 after surgery to repair tears in both his rotator cuff and biceps in his left shoulder in 2022.
- Cincinnati also recalled Nick Senzel, Curt Casali has returned from a rehab assignment and Henry Ramos has been outrighted to Triple-A Louisville.
