Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal fit for Madrid derby; Eduardo Camavinga could also return

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal will be available to face Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

The 32-year-old right back sustained an injury due to a blow during the victory over Espanyol last Saturday and consequently missed his side’s 3-2 victory over Alaves on Tuesday.

However, the Spain international returned to training on Thursday and has been passed fit to take part in the Madrid Derby at the Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday.

Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga could also be named in Real’s squad on Sunday.

The 21-year-old has been out of action since sustaining a knee injury in training in August before his side’s UEFA Super Cup victory over Atalanta.

Video footage widely circulated on social media appeared to show Camavinga land awkwardly in the act of trying to dribble past France team-mate, Aurelien Tchouameni.

Camavinga has done a small part with the group in training on Thursday, and it will be decided on Saturday if he is passed fit to make the squad. The Frenchman expects to be ready.

Going into the derby on Sunday, Real are second in the La Liga table with 17 points from their opening seven league games this campaign. They are four points behind league leaders Barcelona and five points ahead of Atletico who are fourth.
