R.I.S.E. to Support 2024 | American Floral Endowment
The American Floral Endowment (AFE) has announced that its annual fundraiser, “R.I.S.E. to Support 2024,” has far exceeded its goal, raising more than $140,000 to support the floral industry. This achievement highlights the unwavering commitment and unity of the industry in advancing growth through research, education, and programs.
From May 15 to June 28, 2024, the fully virtual campaign successfully engaged the floral community in fundraising to boost support for AFE’s essential programs.
The overarching theme of R.I.S.E. (Research, Internships, Scholarships, and Education) underscores the Endowment’s dedication to nurturing every facet of the floral sector. With an initial campaign goal of $100,000, over $143,506 was raised, thanks to the generosity of more than 115 donors and sponsors. The full list of sponsors can be viewed here.
In addition to surpassing the fundraising goal, two new Named Funds were established and significant contributions were made to several program funds, including the Arizona Retail Florist Education Travel Grant, Sustainabloom, and more. These targeted donations collectively generated over $180,000 in new funding, further demonstrating the industry’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation.
“The campaign’s success is a testament to the impact of our sponsors, who play a crucial role in funding programs that drive progress across all segments of the floral industry,” says David Garcia, AFE’s Fundraising Chair. “Their support is instrumental in building a stronger, more connected, and visionary future for floriculture. The 2024 Campaign’s virtual format enabled broader participation, removing geographical barriers and travel costs. However, for those interested in connecting with AFE in person, the Endowment will be at CalFlowers Fun ‘N Sun in Carlsbad, CA, from Sept. 4 to 7, 2024. Donors and supporters will be honored with a special video at this event.
