Lionel Messi’s appearances as an Inter Miami player so far have attracted their fair share of stars, but it’s safe to say that no single game attracted a guest list like the one for Miami’s game at LAFC on Sunday night.
Prince Harry was among the famous names in the stands at BMO Stadium, as was Leonardo DiCaprio, LA Lakers superstar LeBron James (his second appearance at a Messi game), “Ted Lasso” star Jason Sudeikis and co-creator/co-star Brendan Hunt, former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, Selena Gomez, and a number of other big names.
Notably, the attendees included not one, but two actors who have played the role of “Spiderman” in films: Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland.

Also among the attendees was actor Will Ferrell, though as LAFC co-owner his presence at BMO Stadium is far more normal. He joined the MLS Season Pass pregame show:

During the first half, Selena Gomez seemed particularly stunned by LAFC goalkeeper John McCarthy’s point-blank save against Messi.

Inter Miami has gone from one of the worst teams in Major League Soccer to one of the league’s hottest since Lionel Messi’s addition on July 21st. Messi and Co. won each of his first seven games with the team en route to a title in Leagues Cup, won the U.S. Open Cup semifinal, and have won one and drawn another in their first two MLS games since the midseason revamp.
