A Ma Maniére’s ongoing collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand are a consistent source of sneaker hype, and some of their best work to date—like their glorious take on the Air Jordan 3 released back in 2021—has already been canonized as modern classics. Their latest drop, an alluring refresh of the legendary Nike Air Max 95, seems poised to reach icon status the moment it hits shelves on October 25.
This Air Max 95 is the fourth installment in A Ma Maniére’s “While You Were Sleeping” collection, a series of limited-edition collabs with Nike, Jordan Brand, and Converse designed to help celebrate the brand’s tenth anniversary. “While You Were Sleeping” has been built around a short film and ad campaign that will be premiering in cinemas. It’s meant to promote the message of “creating at all costs,” and tells the story of a creative agency that taxes Black artists—a metaphor with a strong social message, like so much of the work A Ma Maniére has done.
The “W.Y.W.S.” Air Max 95 is a luxurious spin on the familiar and beloved silhouette. It features a mauve-colored suede upper and a black satin tongue, built on top of a cushioned insole and a black midsole for what the brand has called “an extra layer of comfort and sophistication.” Like many of the brand’s releases, the Air Max also includes premium details such as a monogrammed logo and laser etched branding on the toe box and heel, as well as three additional sets of laces. The overall aesthetic is cool and subtle, with a sleek, understated look that matches the “W.Y.W.S.” series as a whole.
If that weren’t enough, the sneaker will be released alongside its own special edition Nike Destroyer Varsity Jacket. Crafted from pebbled leather with a smooth satin lining, the jacket is an elevated version of a classic outerwear style. It includes two unique variations, each with its own distinctive A Ma Maniére logo printed across the back.
