7th Mercedes Benz S Class Guard in Ambani Garage
For those who are unaware, this is the second brand new W223 generation Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard that Mukesh Ambani has acquired. He recently got one finished in a bold yet classy shade of Black. Also, as mentioned, this is the 7th Mercedes-Benz S-Class guard that the Reliance head has in his garage. This newest one boasts the 999 license plate number, which is one of the two preferred number choices of Mukesh Ambani. The previous black one had the 333 number plate.
What is even more interesting is that Mukesh Ambani previously also bought two W222 Mercedes-Benz S600 Guards. Both of them also had the same 333 and 999 number plates. Both the previous-generation S600 Guards were finished in the shade of Silver. He was also frequently spotted in both of these S600 Guards. The previous-generation model was the most secure Mercedes available at the time of its launch, for which Mukesh Ambani paid around Rs 10 crore.
The previous-gen S-Guard also offered VR10 level protection capable of withstanding 15 kgs of TNT from a distance of 2 meters. The underbody and base structure had been reinforced, with the body shell made up of reinforced steel. The vehicle was crafted using special steel to enhance its strength. The S600 Guard was powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 523 bhp of power and a peak torque output of 850 Nm, mated to a 7-speed gearbox.
New W223 Mercedes Benz S680 Guard
Taking the place of this older model is now the new W223 Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard. This new super-secure flagship sedan is currently the most expensive and protected S-Class model. It gets VPAM VR 10 certification, which is currently the pinnacle of ballistic certification for civilian vehicles. This certification ensures that the vehicle is not only bulletproof but also resistant to explosive charges. The new W223 S680 Guard also comes equipped with bullet- and blast-proof glass featuring multi-layer construction and a polycarbonate layer for splinter protection. The glasses on this sedan measure, on average, from 3.5 to 4 inches.
In terms of the powerplant, the brand-new Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard boasts a massive V12 engine generating 612 hp and a staggering 830 Nm of torque. This 4.2-ton behemoth sedan also gets all-wheel drive, ensuring optimal traction and enhancing the vehicle’s dynamic capabilities in a situation of emergency. The car also gets specialized tires, which have been designed to continue functioning for up to 30 kilometers after a potential flat, allowing occupants to reach safety. This new W223 Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard also costs a whopping Rs 10 crore, like the previous generation of this model.
