When it comes to lifestyle off-roaders in India, one of the newest names to become popular is the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. There is another SUV which is also known for its off-road capabilities worldwide; however, it is not a lifestyle SUV, rather it’s a luxury SUV. We are talking about the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. Both of these SUVs have stark differences; however, some creative people across the pond have manufactured body kits that make the Jimny look like a baby G-Wagen. Recently, another video of a Jimny modified into a baby G has been shared online.
The video of this particular Maruti Suzuki Jimny converted into a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen has been shared on YouTube by RJ Automobile Vlogs on their channel. It starts off with the presenter giving a brief overview of the conversion. He mentions that this job has been done by The Wheels Car Custom in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He states that the total cost of modification of this conversion project has come out to around Rs. 10 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny to Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen
Following this, the video shows a few exterior driving shots of this Jimny converted into a G-Wagen. Following this, the presenter starts off with the front end of the SUV. He mentions that the client of the shop ordered this kit from international markets and requested the shop to fully assemble it. This baby G-Wagen kit comes with full front end replacement parts, including the grille, LED headlights, bumper, fenders, and the bonnet, along with external turn indicators.
Next up, before moving to the side profile, the presenter shows the roof-mounted LED light bars. These lights are very similar to the ones that come on the Brabus-modified real Mercedes-Benz G-Wagens. After this, he then moves to the side profile of the vehicle. He mentions that this Jimny conversion has been equipped with a much more muscular-looking set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Generally, other G-Wagen conversion projects use the same AMG-style multi-spoke alloy wheels. Lastly, he adds that the vehicle has been given a full paint protection film installation.
Following the side profile, the vlogger shows the rear end of the SUV. At the rear end, the shop has changed the rear bumper and side fenders. The taillights have also been replaced with LED taillights that look exactly like the real Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. Apart from this, the client has also opted for a metal ladder on the right side of the rear tailgate. Lastly, the vlogger shows the Brabus-styled roof-mounted spoiler that adds to the aggressive appearance of this conversion.
Complete interior upgrade
After showing the complete exterior modifications, the presenter moves to the interior of the SUV. He mentions that the entire interior has been finished in a combination of black and yellow. The vehicle has been given completely new yellow and black-colored seat covers, 7D mats, a wrapped steering wheel, and a quilted leatherette headliner. He added that they will be adding Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen-styled air conditioning vents that come with ambient lighting to this SUV in the coming months.
