Earlier this year, in January, at the Indian Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki took the covers off the fully electric SUV eVX. The brand’s first-ever EV SUV, which will be launched in India in 2025, is hotly anticipated. Recently, it was reported that the company will be showcasing an updated iteration of this SUV at the Tokyo Motor Show 2023 later this month. It was stated that the company will be unveiling the interior of the SUV at the upcoming motor show; however, just before that could happen, the pictures have already been shared online.
Maruti Suzuki eVX Interior Revealed
The interior pictures of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX come courtesy of Rushlane. From the first picture of the dashboard of the eVX, it can be immediately noticed that it is the most futuristic-looking interior that Suzuki has ever offered in an automobile. The main highlight of the interior of the eVX is the extremely simple and minimal-looking dashboard. This classy-looking dashboard features almost no buttons.
The pictures shared show a dual-tone interior with white being the dominant color on the center dashboard. Another one of the most unique design aspects of this interior is the air conditioning vents. Instead of standard small vents, they have been given a totally unique design. They have been positioned vertically and almost look like they wrap the dashboard from the top to the bottom. As mentioned, no physical buttons can be seen even on the central part of the dash for the air conditioning system as well. This most likely means that the air conditioning system will be controlled via the touchscreen.
Single massive touchscreen
Speaking of touchscreen, the company has finally taken note of the modern times and has now featured a massive single horizontal touchscreen panel on top of the dashboard. This single screen will house the infotainment system as well as the digital instrument gauge cluster. Next up, another bigger talking point of this interior is the distinctly shaped steering wheel. This wheel looks like a classier and more sophisticated version of Formula One cars’ steering wheel. Like the rest of the interior, it also does not feature buttons, and most likely, they will also be capacitive touch-based buttons.
Floating centre console
Coming to the central console of the vehicle, it gets a floating-type design. This console houses a single rotary dial in the middle, which most likely will control the massive touchscreen. Apart from this, the door panels and the side profile of the center console feature some long horizontal lines which have been highlighted with the use of ambient lighting. Talking about the door panels, just like the dashboard and the overall layout of the interior, they also have a very simple and sophisticated design.
Unique seats
Next up on the interior are the uniquely designed seats of the SUV. The overall bucket-type seats appear to be very classy with a dual-tone color scheme. They will boast big supportive side bolsters and a distinctly shaped headrest. The rear seats, on the other hand, seem to be like the normal car’s front seats from the company. Now, from the pictures, it can be concluded that this overall is a concept interior for the Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV; however, if Maruti Suzuki does decide to take things this route, it will make the eVX stand out from its competition by miles.
Maruti Suzuki eVX
As mentioned, the eVX is the first-ever electric SUV from the brand. As per the company, it will come equipped with an electric powertrain that will be capable of delivering an impressive 500 kilometers of range. The concept eVX shown at this year’s Indian Auto Expo featured a 60 kWh battery with a range of 550 kilometers. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce an entry-level variant with a slightly smaller 48 kWh battery, still offering a commendable 400 kilometers of range.
