Female wrestler Nikhat Zareen who earlier won the championship bout against her rival Nguten Thi Tam of Vietnam to grab the championship by 5-0 to claim the world title has finally got her Thar. Nikhat planned to buy a Mercedes-Benz with the price money she received from the championship but dropped the plan after Mahindra announced that they will reward the wrestler with the Thar.
India’s greatest boxing champion deserves no less than India’s greatest off-roader. Honoured to felicitate @nikhat_zareen with the All-New Thar for winning Gold at World Women’s Boxing Championship 2023.#AllNewThar #ExploreTheImpossible #IBA pic.twitter.com/ZQAQLtuU6v

Mahindra announced the Thar gift for Zareen soon after she became the championship. Before that, Nikhat said on social media, that she wishes to buy a Mercedes-Benz car.
Mahindra and Mahindra delivered its flagship SUV to the world champion. South Zonal Head Roy, Reginal Sales Head Abhishek and VV Rajendraprasad, Manging Director of VVC Motors delivered the Thar to Nikhat at Mahindra VVC Showroom in Kottaguda.
Massive waiting period on Thar
We are not sure which variant of Mahindra Thar was gifted to Nikhat Zareen. But there is a massive waiting period on both variants of the Thar – the 4X4 and the 4X2.
Since its introduction in January 2023, the Thar RWD has achieved remarkable success in the Indian market. Positioned at a more budget-friendly price, the Mahindra Thar RWD has emerged as a preferred option for purchasers in search of the robust charm of the Thar, albeit without the inclusion of four-wheel drive. The widespread popularity of the Thar RWD is unmistakably demonstrated by the ongoing waiting period, which now stretches as far as 17 months.
Mahindra XUV700 for Neeraj Chopra
Indian athletes delivered a remarkable performance at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, with Neeraj Chopra emerging as a historic figure by securing India’s first-ever gold medal in Athletics. The entire nation rejoiced in celebrating this exceptional achievement, and amidst the jubilation and accolades bestowed upon the new gold medalist, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, pledged to gift a specially customized Mahindra XUV700 to the accomplished javelin thrower.
The athlete-tailored versions of the XUV700 have been meticulously crafted under the guidance of acclaimed designer Pratap Bose, who recently joined Mahindra. Leaked images of the vehicle showcase some exterior modifications, although details about potential cabin enhancements remain unconfirmed.
From the images, it is evident that the Mahindra XUV700 Javelin edition boasts captivating gold accents. The grille, adorned in golden hues, presents a striking contrast against the midnight blue body of the vehicle. Notably, the rear of the car features an emblem commemorating Neeraj Chopra’s record-breaking throw of 87.58 meters, marking his victory. Similarly, another special edition bears the designation 68.55, signifying Sumit Antil’s triumphant throw.
Although reports suggest that the interior is adorned with golden stitching and includes the same victorious figures on the dashboard, these details await official confirmation.
