Leeds United agree deal to sign former Manchester United youngster Largie Ramazani from Almeria

Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Belgian forward Largie Ramazani from Almeria.

The Championship club will pay their La Liga counterparts a fee in the region of €11million for the 23-year-old, who spent three years at Manchester United as a teenager.

The playmaker will undergo a medical on Thursday before finalising his move to Elland Road.

Leeds regard the Belgium Under-21 international as a direct replacement for Crysencio Summerville, who joined West Ham United earlier this summer for an undisclosed fee.

Summerville was one of a number of high-profile departures from Elland Road this summer.

Academy graduate Archie Gray joined Tottenham Hotspur in a club-record £40million sale, while Georginio Rutter completed a move to Brighton and Hove Albion for the same fee last week.

Ramazani began his career in Belgium with Anderlecht before joining Charlton Athletic as a 12-year-old.

He spent four years with the south London club before signing for Manchester United as a youth player.

The versatile forward made 29 appearances for Almeria in La Liga last season.

He missed five of the club’s final six games of the campaign after being given a five-game ban for his red card against Villarreal.

Leeds began the new Championship campaign with a 3-3 draw at newly-promoted Portsmouth before being held to a goalless draw at West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

They are next in action against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening.
