KBC contestant Jaskaran Singh awarded Hyundai Exter after winning Rs. 1 crore

The 15th season of India’s beloved TV game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), is creating waves, and recently, it witnessed its first crorepati of the season. Jaskaran Singh, the lucky contestant, clinched the coveted Rs 1 crore prize. What’s more, as a bonus prize, he drove home in a brand new Hyundai Exter.

While Jaskaran Singh decided to step away from the quiz after securing Rs 1 crore, it’s worth noting that if he had answered the Rs 7-crore question correctly, he would have won a Hyundai Verna instead. The specific variant of the Hyundai Exter awarded to the winner remains undisclosed, but many speculate it to be the fully loaded SX(O) Connect trim.

Hyundai Exter

The Exter, Hyundai’s contender in the micro SUV segment, has taken its place as the new entry-level model in the brand’s SUV lineup, formerly occupied by the Venue. Sharing its platform with the Grand i10 Nios, the Exter boasts a distinctive boxy design and a well-crafted interior.

What’s beneath the Hood?

Under the Exter’s hood lies a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, churning out 83PS and 114Nm of torque. This engine can be coupled with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. Additionally, there’s a 1.2-litre petrol-CNG option that delivers 69PS and 95Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Packed with Features

The Hyundai Exter comes generously equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, cruise control, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. Notably, it offers a single-pane sunroof, paddle shifters, and rain-sensing wipers, elevating the driving experience.

Safety Measures

Safety is paramount, with the Exter featuring six airbags as standard, along with ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic stability control (ESC), a dual-camera dashcam, and a rearview camera.

Pricing and Competition

Hyundai has positioned the Exter competitively, with prices ranging from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). While its primary competitor is the Tata Punch, it also competes with the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Citroen C3, and the Maruti Fronx crossover in India’s burgeoning micro SUV segment.

Jaskaran Singh’s victory on KBC 2023 not only showcases his knowledge but also awards him the thrill of driving home a brand new Hyundai Exter. This season of KBC continues to captivate audiences and change lives, one question at a time.
