Joseph Quinn Is Dressing Like a New Kind of Marvel Star

He is hot off his press tour for the post-apocalyptic sequel A Quiet Place: Day One, the actor held his own alongside his preternaturally stylish costar Lupita Nyong’o in an array of fine-tuned outfits: A mischievous, charcoal-striped Thom Browne wool suit. A silky, milk-hued Tom Ford look with patent Chelsea boots and red-framed sunglasses. A cropped zippered jacket with taupe pleated trousers and lug-soled boots.

And when the new Fantastic Four crew made their first promo rounds at last month’s Comic Con, Quinn looked great in his latte-brown suede Prada jacket, high-rise trousers, and hot-guy buzz cut. (That haircut was a souvenir from another upcoming project called Warfare—Alex Garland’s latest for A24—which features a cadre of fellow buzzed heartthrobs including Charles Melton, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Kit Connor, and Noah Centineo.) Rounding out the cool factor were Quinn’s costars: Moss-Bachrach wore a cashmere polo sweater, while Pedro Pascal did his usual thing in a vintage Cypress Hill T-shirt.

Working with his stylist Fabio Immediato, who also dresses fellow Marvelite James McAvoy and Pascal’s The Last of Us costar Bella Ramsey, Quinn looked orderly enough for the persnickety constraints of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but dialed-in enough to pique the menswear heads. A natural progression to the tone set by his Human Torch predecessors, from Chris Evans’s fratty aughts-era aura to Michael B. Jordan’s ultra-sleek designer selects.

Quinn’s mental preparation for his entry into the MCU, the actor recently told British GQ, has been surreal. “You can’t think. You just have to go with it,” he said, adding that he had some big plans before jetting off to film Fantastic Four, which kicked off production in London last month.

“God willing, I’m going to get myself to Glastonbury,” he said. “And after that we’re into skin-tight suits and fire.” As it turns out, in more ways than one!
