Jets benching Zach Wilson, will start Tim Boyle vs. Dolphins: Sources



The New York Jets (4-6) are benching quarterback Zach Wilson and will start Tim Boyle moving forward, league sources said. Here’s what you need to know:

Backstory

Wilson was 7-of-15 passing for 81 yards with one touchdown and one interception at the time of his benching Sunday. He had a 57.9 passer rating.

The No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has started in place of future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, who tore his Achilles in Week 1, this season. This marks the second season in a row that Wilson has been benched. In 2022, New York opted to go with backups Mike White and Joe Flacco after Wilson struggled.

Boyle has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears during his career and has completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 607 yards, three touchdowns and nine interceptions,
