In today’s greenhouse industry, the ability to adapt to customer needs and integrate their feedback can distinguish successful growers from the rest. Understanding your customers’ preferences, anticipating their needs, and integrating feedback into your operations can enable you to build a resilient, customer-centered business. This article outlines a practical toolkit for greenhouse growers to enhance their customer engagement through product management techniques, applying principles of agile methodologies and project management.

1. Shaping Your Business with Customer-Centric Product Management

Product management for greenhouse growers goes beyond cultivating new plant varieties or experimenting with production methods. It’s about actively shaping the business based on what customers value most. Within my courses at Harrisburg University, I focus on developing an agile mindset that empowers students to approach their operations from the customer’s perspective. The goal is to create a structured feedback loop that informs every aspect of the product lifecycle, from seed to sale.
