Day Four of California Spring Trials 2025 is in the books. The Greenhouse Grower team spent the fourth day taking in some of the newest varieties and series from Danziger, Kientzler, Sakata, and Syngenta Flowers. Check out the following slideshow to see what captured our attention at CAST 2025.
Calibrachoa ‘Sangria Fizz’ (Kientzler)
An eye-catching calibrachoa among hundreds of calibrachoas, ‘Sangria Fizz’ features a red center so wide that it is essentially a red calibrachoa with a yellow picotee edge.
Catharanthus ‘Cora XDR Red Glow’ (Syngenta Flowers)
This new bright-red option in the Cora series was bred with strong disease resistance. It features good branching and excellent flower quality.
Helianthus ‘Sunfinity Yellow Red Bicolor’ (Syngenta Flowers)
A perfect addition to the Sunfinity series, which until now has been all-yellow flowers, ‘Yellow Red Bicolor’ offers a striking dark orange-red eye around the center.
Impatiens ‘Sunpatiens Compact Pink Flash’ (Sakata Ornamentals)
Sunpatiens celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025 with two new colors: Pink Flash and Royal Magenta Imp.
Osteospermum ‘Besties Dynamic Bicolor’ (Danziger)
The Besties series lives up to its name with uniform timing and habit. Dynamic Bicolor was a real standout.
Osteospermum ‘SummerSmile Sangria’ (Kientzler)
A strong, dark-red osteospermum, unique in its color.
Scabiosa ‘Scoop’ (Danziger)
Unique in color and form, ‘Scoop’ is a lovely cut flower, with long and sturdy stems.
