Full House Fans Will Recognize John Stamos’s Checkered Sofa

John Stamos showcases an affinity for mementos in a video interview with InStyle to promote his new book, If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir. The Full House star has filled his home in the celeb-beloved California enclave of Hidden Hills with one-of-a-kind collector’s items and sentimental ephemera, including a pair of sunglasses that once belonged to Elvis, a guitar owned by his late Full House costar, Bob Saget, and framed letters from his late parents, which were also prominently displayed in his former Beverly Hills pad that AD toured in 2019.

Most notably, eagle-eyed fans of the ’90s sitcom will notice that the actor begins the interview seated at the exact same blue-and-white checkered sofa that was situated in the center of the living room in both Full House and its reboot, Fuller House, which Stamos executive produced and in which he reprised his role as Uncle Jesse Katsapolis. Both shows are set in the same iconic San Francisco Victorian and many scenes take place in the living room around the sofa—which, in retrospect, gives off some respectable cottagecore vibes.

A scene from Full House shows an Olson twin, Dave Coulier, and Stamos in the Tanner family’s living room, one of the most common sets in the series.
