Montreal Canadiens rookie forward Emil Heineman was involved in a traffic accident while walking around Salt Lake City on Monday night and will miss 3-4 weeks with an upper-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Emil Heineman a été impliqué, hier, dans un accident de la route comme piéton. Heineman a subi une blessure au haut du corps et sera absent pour une durée de trois à quatre semaines.

Swedish media outlet Aftonbladet first reported the incident, quoting Heineman’s agent Marcus Isaksson saying that Heineman had been hit by a car. The team said Heineman was walking alone at the time of the incident.
Heineman, 23, is third in the NHL among rookies with 10 goals this season, trailing only Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks and Matvei Michkov of the Philadelphia Flyers, while playing just over 11 minutes a game, considerably less than both Celebrini and Michkov.
He is part of a Canadiens fourth line with Jake Evans and Joel Armia, who have been big drivers of the team’s recent success, with nine wins in their last 12 games. Heineman also plays on the Canadiens’ second power-play unit.
