Bournemouth are set to win the race for Bristol City’s highly-rated midfielder Alex Scott.
The 19-year-old is set to join the Premier League club for a fee in excess of £20million after they saw off the challenge of a number of rivals for his signature.
Wolves were one of those interested but after protracted negotiations it is Bournemouth who have got a deal over the line with Scott impressed by the club’s ambition.
A medical is expected shortly.
Scott enjoyed an impressive campaign with Bristol City last term making 42 appearances in the Championship.
He is also a regular at England age group level and was part of the squad at the 2023 Under-20 World Cup, starting three of the side’s four games.

Bournemouth have admired Scott for several years, beginning as an eight-year-old when he joined local neighbours Southampton.
Bournemouth have enjoyed a busy summer with Hamed Junior Traore, Milos Kerkez, Romain Faivre and Justin Kluivert all arriving on the south coast.
Norwich City’s Max Aarons is set to join them too after Bournemouth hijacked Leeds United’s proposed move for the England Under-21 international.
They kick off their 2023-24 Premier League campaign against West Ham on Saturday.
