Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan buys Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class luxury SUV

Renowned Bollywood actress and sister of actor Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan, became the proud owner of a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class luxury SUV on her 45th birthday. The actress, widely known for her roles in movies like “Rang De Basanti” and “Tum Mile,” purchased the new Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class in white.

Positioned between the GLC-Class and GLS-Class SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class SUV is available in three versions in the Indian car market – GLE 300d, GLE 400d, and GLE 450. However, it remains unclear which of the three versions of the SUV Soha Ali Khan acquired. A picture of her taking delivery of her new SUV at her residence was shared by the Mumbai-based Mercedes-Benz dealer on its social media handles.

Priced between Rs 91 lakh to Rs 1.08 crore, the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class has become a top favorite among Bollywood celebrities, alongside other higher-spec models from the brand, such as the GLS-Class, S-Class, Maybach S650, and Maybach GLS600. Other proud owners of the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class from Bollywood include Farhan Akhtar, Boman Irani, Kangana Ranaut, and Neha Sharma. However, Soha Ali Khan is the first owner of the all-new version of the GLE-Class SUV, launched in India only a few weeks ago.

This premium midsize luxury SUV is available in the Indian car market with a standard five-seater configuration. Regarding the variants, the entry-level GLE 300d comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 241 bhp of maximum power and 500 Nm of maximum torque. Following that is the GLE 400d, featuring a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine with a maximum power output of 326 bhp and maximum torque output of 700 Nm.

The sole petrol-powered version of the GLE-Class is the GLE 450, equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged petrol engine generating 362 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. All three versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class sold in India are long-wheelbase models, featuring Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class competes with top-tier SUVs from other luxury car brands, such as the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Land Rover Range Rover Velar, and Volvo XC90. It is also priced competitively with sportier SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne and Maserati Levante.
