Boise State-Hawai'i back judge collapses on field, leaves in ambulance

The back judge working the Boise State–Hawai’i matchup Saturday night at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex collapsed onto his hands and knees in the second quarter and remained on the ground while he was tended to by multiple medical personnel.

An ambulance arrived on-field and the official was able to walk to it on his own power. He was alert as he left the complex, according to the CBS broadcast.

The referee was not replaced by a backup. Instead, the referee assignments rotated, with the center judge moving to back judge, per the broadcast. The crew remained down a member the rest of the game.
