The pictures of the 7 cars showcased by Yohan Poonawalla were shared on Instagram by Automobili Ardent on their official page. According to the post, the star of the show was the exquisitely restored “Rolls-Royce Phantom V 7-Passenger Limousine” by James Young, with chassis number 5LCG25. This luxurious vehicle was originally acquired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Ali Al Thani, the first President and founding father of modern Qatar, after it graced the stage at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show. After meticulous restoration, it made its grand debut in Doha and was unveiled after being viewed by the current Prime Minister of Qatar.
Mr. Poonawalla’s collection, known as the YZP Collection, encompasses a variety of cars with rich histories. Notable mentions from the collection include a “1949 Maharaja of Mysore Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Drop Head Coupe by James Young” and a “1949 Maharaja of Mysore Bentley Mark VI 4-Light Touring Saloon by Hooper & Co.” Apart from the above-mentioned vintage automobiles, there was also a “1927 Nawab of Sachin Rolls Royce 20 HP Tourer by Barker & Co,” dating back to the early 20th century.
The collection also showcased the “1933 Rolls Royce Phantom II Sir Malcolm Campbell Sports Saloon by Barker & Co,” a Rolls-Royce Motorcars vehicle from the pre-war era. Additionally, the “1979 Rolls Royce Phantom VI Limousine,” which had once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, was also part of the show.
Lastly, another one of the most iconic sedans from the YZP collection of Yohan Poonawalla was the “1964 Lincoln Continental 4-door convertible.” This particular car was gifted to Mother Teresa by Pope Paul VI, emphasizing its historical and philanthropic significance. It was later bought and fully restored by the Indian billionaire and showcased at the Geneva International Motor Show held in Qatar this year.
