Boubacar Kamara and Jacob Ramsey are set to be out for the next couple of weeks with hamstring injuries.
Ramsey was substituted in the first half of Aston Villa’s 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday while Kamara replaced Amadou Onana in the 74th minute and played the rest of the game, despite Unai Emery revealing he “felt something” while running.
Kamara’s issue was also a hamstring injury and initial scans appear to show a grade 1 strain, which is likely to keep the France international out for a few weeks. Ramsey’s timeframe of recovery is expected to be similar, though Villa will continue to assess the pair in the upcoming days.
In a start-stop 12-month period, Ramsey has suffered frustrating setbacks, having missed 266 days of the 2023-24 campaign through four different injuries. Kamara, meanwhile, has recently returned to fitness after sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in February.
Emery’s side do not play again until November 23, with the international break coming at a good time for Villa to arrest their recent run of form after suffering four straight defeats across all competitions and get other players back to fitness.
Villa hope to have Matty Cash and Ross Barkley available after the international break, having missed the previous three matches.
