Watching the No. 8 pick come and go was a strange feeling in Atlanta’s draft room. The Falcons had the No. 8 pick in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 drafts. This year, they have to wait until No. 15 for their first selection (if their attempts to trade down are unsuccessful). Atlanta drafted wide receiver Drake London, running back Bijan Robinson and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in the eighth spot the last three years.
So far tonight, not much has happened of significance for the Falcons, who are expected to be in the edge rusher market. Of course, the longer Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders stays undrafted, the better it is for Atlanta because it would seem to improve the team’s chances of trading Kirk Cousins at some point this offseason.
