Georgia quarterback Carson Beck was ruled out of the SEC championship against Texas on Saturday after taking a hard hit on the final play of the first half, per the ESPN broadcast. Backup Gunner Stockton replaced him.
But in overtime, needing a touchdown to win it, Stockton took a hard hit from Texas defensive back Andrew Mukuba, knocking Stockton’s helmet off. Stockton was not allowed to play the next snap, so Beck subbed back in, jogging onto the field keeping his previously injured right arm straight at his side.
