It’s been a big couple years for the retro Zoom Vomero 5, the tried-and-true runner silhouette. But with the upcoming Nike Zoom Vomero Roam “Black Rose,” it’s about to get even bigger. Because this trainer is set to please every kind of sneakerhead.
As you may have already guessed, the Zoom Vomero Roam is based on the popular Zoom Vomero 5. That means it’s got the same dad shoe-esque silhouette, it’s got the same geometric heel counter, and the Swoosh? Yeah, that’s the same too. But while its predecessor was decked out in mesh and leather, the Roam is working with a ripstop-nylon base.
The base is overlaid by suede panels across the front and back, while the sides are supported by a brand-new rubber cage. There’s a novel toggle-switch lacing system, and the trail shoe influences go hard along the bottom half of the trainer, which is wrapped in a water-resistant material for all those hikes that you may or may not be going on in these two-tone pink kicks.
