$5000 is up for grabs right now with BizGiver grant competition

  • The $5000 BizGiver grant competition will run from 9 April – 7 May 2025.
  • BizGiver gives Australian SMEs a $5000 small business grant.
  • Past BizGiver winner says that the grant has helped him follow his dream.

BizCover, Australia’s number one online business insurance service, has announced the new dates for their $5000 small business grant competition.

Known as BizGiver, the grant competition invites Aussie small businesses from all over the country to participate.

To enter, participants must create a one-minute video that talks about their business and how they plan to use the grant to help improve it.

Since 2014, BizCover has awarded more than $100,000 in prizes.

The last BizGiver winner, Victoria-based Benjamin Witkowski, used the grant to buy a cinema-quality drone to help with his multi-media business, Dreamer Studios.

Now, Ben is putting the drone to good use to create even higher-quality content for his clients.

But the drone has also helped him begin work on a lifelong passion project – an adventure documentary series centred around arts and culture.

“When I first read the email saying I’d won, I was genuinely speechless for about 10 or 15 minutes,” says Ben.

“[The drone] has already completely changed the game in everything I’m trying to do. So I couldn’t be more appreciative, couldn’t be happier that I was chosen as the BizGiver winner.”

In addition to the small business grant of up to $5,000, BizGiver can also act as a platform for SMEs, promoting their business across various channels and introducing it to potential new customers.

As a BizGiver runner-up, Gemma Lee says it can also be incredibly empowering.

Gemma Lee is the owner of Brightwater Wellness Hub in Queensland and made it into the top ten of the last round.

“If you’re thinking of entering the next BizGiver round, just go for it,” Gemma Lee says.

“It’s super empowering. It doesn’t matter how far you get into the competition; it’s really empowering to put yourself out there and to speak from your heart about what ignites you.”

Ben’s advice to other small business owners thinking of entering the competition is similar to Gemma Lee’s.

“I would just say, go for it. Do not doubt yourself… Because you just never know how many other people are going to believe in what you’re doing.”
