2023 Tata Safari Dark Edition: First walkaround video of the facelifted SUV



Soon after launching the all-new Harrier and Safari facelifts in India, Tata Motors has started sending these SUVs to their dealerships. Recently, an in-depth video walkaround of the all-new Tata Safari Dark Edition has been shared online. In the video, the host shows all the details of this newly launched flagship SUV and talks about its unique offerings over the standard model.

2023 Tata Safari Dark Edition

The video walkaround of the new Tata Safari Dark Edition has been shared on YouTube by Kamal Yadav on their channel. It starts off with the presenter showing the front of the vehicle and introducing the Safari Dark Edition. He states that the new Safari facelift gets a brand-new connected LED DRL and a set of newly designed LED headlights. He adds that in the Dark Edition, everything, including the main front grille, skid plate, and lower grille, come finished in high gloss black.

Next up, he states that the entire car does not get any silver chrome; instead, it gets dark chrome elements. The front Tata logo, the new Safari badging on the front doors, and rear Tata and Safari badging all come finished in dark chrome to add to the sinister Dark Edition theme. After this, he mentions that the new Dark Edition Safari can be had beginning from the Pure+ S variant. Apart from it, the Adventure+, Accomplished, and the one present in the video, Accomplished+, all will be offered in Dark Edition.

Following this, he shows the newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels on the side profile of this Dark Edition. He adds that the Pure+S Dark Edition will come with 17-inch alloy wheels, meanwhile, the Adventure+ Dark Edition will come with 18-inch alloy wheels. Next up, the presenter adds that the company, although it has not completely changed the suspension, has retuned it to better suit the newly added massive 19-inch alloy wheels. The new Safari facelift also has electronic steering as well.

After this, the presenter moves to the rear end of the vehicle and shows the newly designed LED taillights. He mentions that this new rear LED taillight offers a welcome animation, just like the front connected LED DRLs. Apart from this, the new Safari on the rear gets an electronic tailgate, which can be opened and closed with the help of the button on the key. Additionally, with the key in the pocket and all the doors unlocked, the rear powered tailgate can be opened with the help of a foot gesture underneath the rear skid plate.

Interior

Following the complete exterior walkaround, the presenter opens the door and shows the new Dark Edition Safari facelift from the inside. He mentions that the new SUV gets a completely blacked-out interior. He shows that the door card of the driver side and mentions that it gets a combination of soft-touch and hard-touch plastics. He also shows the perforations on the door panel with blue highlights, which are also present on the seats.

Talking about the seats, he shows the newly added powered seats with a memory function. He adds that the front two seats, along with the second-row seats on the top-spec models with 6-seat configuration, come equipped with a ventilation function, which is a segment-first offering. Apart from that, the main highlight of the interior is the massive and very responsive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, it also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster.

Powertrain

Coming to the powertrain side of things, the presenter mentions that at the moment, it still only comes available with the same 2.0-liter engine as before. Power figures of this diesel mill are 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic. The all-new Safari Dark Edition based on the Accomplished+ is being offered at Rs 31.49 lakh.
