2023 Skoda Kushaq Onyx Plus compact SUV: In-depth walkaround [Video]

Just a few weeks ago, the Czech automaker Skoda’s Indian subsidiary, Skoda Auto India, launched the new Kushaq Onyx Plus compact SUV. This new model is based on the Onyx trim, which is the second base variant of this popular SUV. The model features some aesthetic alterations, and recently, a video of its walkaround was shared online. The video shows the new Skoda Kushaq Onyx Plus variant in detail.

It starts off with the presenter showing the newly launched Kushaq Onyx Plus variant parked inside the showroom. He mentions that for this new variant, the company provided it with aesthetic differences on the outside and the inside.

Powertrain

Following this, the video mentions that the new Kushaq Onyx Plus variant will come with a single powertrain option. The presenter states that the company is only offering this variant with the 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine. This powerplant is capable of producing 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque. Next up, he adds that this variant is exclusively available with the manual transmission only and no other transmission options. He also adds that it only comes with Candy White and Carbon Steel color choices.

Exterior design updates

Next up, the presenter starts off with the front-end design of the new Kushaq Onyx Plus. He starts with the headlights, stating that they come equipped with the same LED-based projector headlamps and LED DRLs. Next up, he shows the major difference between the other variants and the Onyx Plus, which is its front grille. The grille gets additional chrome slats and chrome surrounds, like the more expensive Skoda Kodiaq SUV.

After the front, he moves to the side profile of the vehicle and adds that it gets a set of new 16-inch silver alloy wheels. Additionally, this particular car in the video has been equipped with the Onyx Edition stickers on the door panels. After this, the presenter shows the rear end of the SUV. He states that it gets the same exact design and taillights, and the only addition is a chrome strip on the rear boot door.

Interior design updates

Following the exterior walkaround, the presenter moves to the interior of the Kushaq Onyx Plus. He starts at the boot of the vehicle and states that it does not get the parcel shelf; everything else is the same. He also shows the Onyx Edition pillows and floor mats that come from the factory. After this, he moves to the front two seats of the SUV.

Before showing the front seats, he mentions that this Edition comes with Onyx engraved scuff plates. He then shows the seats of the SUV and mentions that they are specific to this model and offer a black and light grey color scheme. Next up, he shows the same layout of the dashboard. The base trims of the Kushaq come with the same two-spoke steering wheel, smaller touchscreen infotainment system, a small MID screen, and two analogue meters on the dash.
