2023 Hyundai i20 Facelift launched in India at Rs 6.99 lakh


The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai’s Indian subsidiary, Hyundai Motor India Limited, has launched the all-new i20 facelift in the country. This new facelifted model has been launched with a starting price tag of Rs 6.99, and it goes all the way to Rs 11 lakh for the top-spec variant. The 2023 i20 receives a ton of exterior and interior design updates and enhanced safety features as well. No changes to the mechanical side of things have been made on this mid-life update.

Exterior updates

The new 2023 i20 facelift has been given an all-new front bumper design along with an updated grille. The headlights have also been updated and now feature a set of all-LED headlights with a single-strike LED DRL on top. The front bumper, as mentioned, gets new arrow-like shapes on the sides, and the lower section of it has also been changed to look more aggressive. The 2023 Hyundai i20 will now come available with 6 monotone colors and 2 dual-tone color options, including Amazon Grey (New), Atlas White, Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Fiery Red, Atlas White + Black Roof, and Fiery Red + Black Roof.

In terms of changes on the side, things have been kept the same except for the newly designed mirror caps and new design for the 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. On the rear as well, things have not changed drastically, and it gets a similar striking design with Z-shaped LED tail lights. The rear bumper, just like the front bumper, has been revised and gets a new and massive silver skid plate.

Interior updates

Coming to the interior, just like the exterior, not much has been changed. It gets the same dashboard layout. The only few differences are that it now gets a dual-tone scheme where the top portion is finished in black, meanwhile, the bottom portion is finished in grey color. Another important update on the new i20 facelift’s interior is that it now gets ambient lighting, a BOSE 7-speaker premium system, and a physical volume knob for the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Other updates on the interior include new semi-leatherette seats, leatherette door armrests, a new leather-wrapped D-Cut steering wheel, and an immersive ambient sound experience with seven nature-inspired soundscapes. Additionally, the new facelifted i20 also gets 60+ connected car features, 127 Embedded VR commands, 52 Hinglish voice commands, Over-the-Air updates, Multilanguage UI support with 10 Regional and 2 International languages, and a Type-C charger.

Safety features

In terms of the new and updated safety, the 2023 i20 gets 26 standard safety features, including 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Antilock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake Distribution (BD). Additionally, the car also gets a three-point seatbelt with seatbelt reminders for all seats as well. The car also comes equipped with more than 40 safety features, such as the Burglar alarm, Emergency stop signal, rear parking camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Highline, headlamp escort function, and Automatic headlamps.

Powertrain

Coming to the powertrain side of things, the new 2023 i20 facelift gets the same 1.2L Kappa petrol engine with Manual Transmission and Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). This engine generates a maximum of 87 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. The new 2023 i20 now features Idle Stop & Go (ISG) feature, which has been added to improve the fuel efficiency of this premium hatchback.
