The MG Comet may not be the first choice of all celebrities; however, the Malayalam movie actress Anunaya Anoop, more commonly known by her stage name Meenakshi Anoop, recently bought this tiny EV. The 18-year-old actress took delivery of her new MG Comet in Kerala. The popular Bollywood actor and restaurateur Sunil Shetty also bought himself an MG Comet recently.
Meenakshi Anoop’s MG Comet EV
The young Malayalam movie actress has taken delivery of her new MG Comet finished in yellow color. The actress has opted for the Executive variant of the Comet EV. This variant comes equipped with halogen headlamps, halogen taillights, illuminated MG logo, and 12-inch steel wheels with wheel covers.
Apart from these, the variant chosen by Meenakshi comes equipped with LED turn indicators on ORVMs, starlight black interior theme, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. It also comes with front and rear seat belt reminder system, manual parking brake, speed-sensing auto door lock function, impact-sensing auto door unlock function, and TPMS.
Additionally, the MG Comet Executive variant also comes equipped with LED rear fog light, seven-inch fully digital instrument cluster, remote central locking, creep mode, keyless entry, and manual air conditioning system. Lastly, it also gets power-adjustable ORVMs, two speakers, and steering-mounted controls.
MG Comet EV: Powertrain
MG Comet EV is offered with a 17.3 kWh battery pack. This battery takes about 7 hours to charge from 0-100% through a regular home socket, and MG provides a 3.3 kW charger with the car.
As for the motor, the car gets an electric motor which produces a maximum power of 42 PS and a peak torque of 110 Nm. The overall range of this EV according to this company is 230 km.

As stated above, the popular Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty also bought himself an MG Comet EV a little while ago. He bought himself the top-spec variant finished in starry black color. The actor has mentioned that he enjoys driving it very much.
Apart from Sunil Shetty, popular actor Rohit Roy also bought himself a brand-new Comet EV. The actor shared the picture of his car with the caption highlighting why he bought this tiny EV. He stated that the recent strikes by truck drivers caused the entire country to stop because of no supply of petrol.
So he decided to buy an EV taking note of this situation. The actor in his post also mentioned that the car is extremely easy to operate. He stated, “you get into the driver’s seat and she’s good to go!!” Adding on to his post, the actor revealed that he has not gotten out of it since he has taken delivery.
He also thanked MG Motor for the quick delivery of his Comet EV. The actor has gone with the top-of-the-line Plush variant of this all-electric hatchback finished in the shade of Candy white.
The MG Comet EV is a decent seller, and chiefly rivals the Tata Tiago.EV. The Comet’s small footprint makes it an excellent city car. Nearly, everyone who buy the Comet EV do so as their second car, and use it mainly for city commutes.
